DIY teeth whitening with the new Pola Light
Whitening your teeth at home can be more convenient and save time. A while back, we reviewed DIY teeth whitening with the Oral B 3D White Whitestrips Luxe. You can see what we thought of that here. We loved the convenience, and the fact that it was readily available to purchase at most supermarkets.
But what about more dental-centred products? We recently received the Pola Light which is a DIY take home whitening kit which has an inbuilt light. There’s no need to have in chair whitening with a light, you can simply do your own teeth whitening from the comfort of your own home.
Pola Light promises to whiten your teeth in 5 days, with just 20 minutes a day of use required. The light itself is portable and rechargeable. It removes long term stains, and returns a patient’s smile to the whitest natural shade possible. The formula also remineralizes teeth to strengthen them, and extra hydration reduces sensitivity. EASE OF USE:
The instructions provided were easy to follow. Squeezing the gel in was also quite straight forward, as you just needed to squirt a line in for the upper and lower teeth. The light also automatically times the 15 minute intervals for you, making things even more convenient.
I found I could use the light for 2x 15 minute sessions before I needed to charge it with the USB charger provided. It’s good to know this if you plan to use it on consecutive days.
TASTE:
I did find some of the gel does make its way into your mouth. The taste isn’t too unpleasant, but it did make my tongue tingle a bit.

VERDICT:
Overall, I’m impressed by the ease of use of this whitening kit. If you didn’t have your own teeth whitening trays, this might be a good product to try. The only thing I’m uncertain of is how much of the gel got onto my teeth. It wasn’t really possible to tell and I feel like there wasn’t as much contacting my teeth compared to when I use my own custom made whitening trays. It did whiten my teeth gradually but I think for me I’d need to use it more than the recommended 5 days. I found I experienced little to no sensitivity of my teeth when I was using this product.
