Straightening Your Teeth: Understanding the Cost of Invisalign Treatment with Health Insurance

Invisalign is a popular dental treatment option for those looking to straighten their teeth. It is an invisible brace system that uses clear aligners to gradually shift teeth into the desired position. As with any dental treatment, one of the main concerns for many is cost. In this article, we will take a closer look at the cost of Invisalign treatment in Perth, and explore the various factors that can impact the cost of these popular teeth straightening options. We will also discuss how health insurance can play a role in the cost of Invisalign treatment, as well as financing options that may be available.

Whether you’re considering Invisalign for yourself or for a loved one, this article can help you make an informed decision.

Understanding Invisalign costs in Perth

Do you wish you had straighter teeth? Or maybe the gaps in between your teeth bother you? If you answered yes, you have probably already heard of Invisalign clear aligners. They have been around since the mid-1990s and were the OG clear aligners.

Figuring out the cost for Invisalign can certainly be very confusing. Most dentists will of course have their own fee schedule. And then, there’s health insurance.

So how much does Invisalign actually cost?

The short answer to this is that it depends on the complexity of your teeth’ alignment problems. Naturally, some people’s situations will be simpler, and therefore shorter and cheaper to treat. Then, there’s the other end of the spectrum, here we are talking about people with alignment issues on the more complex side. We’re talking severe crowding that might only be able to be fixed by making space by the removal of teeth, or jaw discrepancies (where the relationship between the upper and lower jaws needs corrections).

Of course, it’s impossible to know without discussing with a dentist first to find out where you place on this spectrum of complexity. A good place to start (before you speak to your dentist), is the Invisalign free assessment tool. Access the to see if Invisalign might be appropriate for you.

While it’s impossible to specify exactly what cost your Invisalign will be prior to consulting with a dentist, we can give you a price range based on our Invisalign smile packages. For those whose alignment issues are on the simpler side, the lower end of the price range would be just under $6000, valued at $5999. For those whose treatment is medium in complexity, the price range would be around $6999. And for those on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of treatment needs, the price range would be around $7699. At our Claremont dental clinic, we value price transparency, so all fees will be discussed with you at your consultation prior to starting any work. Fees may also vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the complexity and duration of the Invisalign treatment you may require.

Health insurance and Invisalign

If you’re considering Invisalign clear aligners, we recommend you check your private health insurance to ensure you are covered for Orthodontic treatment. If you’re not, you may want to speak to your health fund. Bear in mind that there may be a 1-year wait before you can claim Orthodontic treatment.

At your consultation appointment, we may be able to check your health fund rebate on your Invisalign treatment (health fund dependent). Please remember to bring your health fund as we will need to swipe it in order to do the quote on your treatment.

You can also speak to your health fund to check the cover on the Invisalign clear aligner code, and also the code for retainers (required after treatment to ensure your teeth stay straight). The item numbers you need to quote to your health fund are 825 (x2) and 811 (x2). Your health fund should be able to let you know what amount you would get back towards those codes.

Financing options for Invisalign treatment in Perth

We are happy to offer payment plans to help to make treatment more affordable for all. Once consent forms are signed and you are happy to proceed, a 50% deposit would be required in order to start your treatment. After this point, the remaining amount owing is divided by 6 and payable over the next 6 months until fully paid. Our Claremont team can discuss any payment queries you may have at any time.
