CUSTOM MADE CROWNS
We use a system called CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) to design and custom-make your crown. The whole process of designing and making your crown is all done within 1-2 hours. This means you can go for a walk, have a coffee, read a book or even go shopping in Claremont! When you come back, your crown is ready to be permanently fixed in place.
OUR DIGITAL DESIGN WORKFLOW
- Scanning – Digital impressions are taken with the CEREC Omnicam – a camera the size of an electric toothbrush that takes 3D images in natural colour.
- Design – together with the latest biometric software, your dentist will custom design a ceramic, metal-free tooth right before your eyes.
- Milling – a tooth-coloured ceramic block is selected and a tooth is created with our in-house milling unit in less than 10 minutes.
- Glazing and finalising – your custom-made crown is finished in a special glazing furnace to make it silky smooth and is all ready to be inserted within 25 minutes.
