Dr Greg reviews Manfloss

Manfloss is a specially designed floss for men. The floss itself is black in colour, making it easier to spot the food particles and plaque you are (hopefully) removing when flossing. It’s been designed by a local Perth dental hygienist, who has been listening for over 20 years to the woes of many patients who struggle to making flossing a daily habit.

Grace Kennedy designed this floss to be wafer thin but wide enough to adequately remove plaque and food debris at the same time.

I trialled this floss intermittently for a few months to see if it lived up to its claims.

COST: $30 from Dental Quarters or www.manfloss.com.au

EASE OF USE:

Instructions provided were most impressive, much better than most other flosses on the market.

For me personally though, the floss is a little too thick, and I had trouble getting it in between some of my teeth that are very tight together.

TASTE:

The floss has a very pleasant mint flavour, to me it was a perfect balance without being overbearing.

VERDICT:

This is a very sturdy floss, and it doesn’t break easily when used. I like that the floss is black because it makes gives you a good visual guide on plaque removal.

It’s really easy to use and effective, but for me it won’t be my daily floss simply because I just can’t get it in between all my teeth easily enough.

It is very gentle on the gums, and I love the packaging. Another plus point is that you get 100m of floss and when you run out you can simply buy refills, which is great for the environment.

Flossing is one of those things that can be difficult for patients to take up as a daily habit. So if this floss helps, it will be a big win for men’s dental health in general!
